Using Feishu and Slack to Manage Remote Work Rhythm

When your team is spread out, push notifications become your shared metronome

·5 min read

One of the biggest challenges of remote work is the disappearance of rhythm. In an office, you can sense that people around you are working, see the clock, and feel the signal that the workday is ending. Remote work removes many of these external rhythm cues, leaving only you and the screen.

ToToday's daily push feature can become an artificial metronome between you and your work.

Feishu bot push: setup steps

In a Feishu group chat or personal conversation, create a custom bot and get its Webhook URL. Go to ToToday Settings → Push Notifications → Feishu, paste the Webhook URL, choose the push time, and save.

Every day at the time you set, the bot sends today's three frog tasks and upcoming due items. You can send it to your own Feishu, or to a daily report group so the team can see each person's focus for the day.

Slack push: one-click OAuth authorization

Go to ToToday Settings → Push Notifications → Slack, click "Connect Slack," complete OAuth authorization by selecting your workspace, then choose the push target, such as your own DM or a channel, and the push time. Save it. This is simpler than Feishu because Slack has native OAuth integration.

Best practices for remote teams

Many remote teams use ToToday push to replace part of the morning standup. Every morning, the bot posts each person's key tasks to a shared channel, and team members can see what everyone is working on without another sync meeting.

This asynchronous standup has clear benefits: it does not consume high-energy work time, creates no time zone pressure, leaves persistent information that can be reviewed later, and lets each person start work at their own best time instead of being blocked by a meeting.

Push strategy for personal users

If you are an independent worker, the value of push notifications is that they create a formal start signal for the workday. The push arrives, you look at it, and then you start. Set the push time about 15 minutes before your planned work start so you have a small buffer.
